Today is a day I chose to spend entirely with my daughter at Santa Monica beach. Of course there were lots of other “things” beckoning us both but we had committed to our traditional day at the beach and we were not to be dissuaded!
Traffic was rugged en route to her apartment in Los Angeles but I made it anyway! Sometimes one has to just look beyond what’s right in front and see the end goal!
The weather was perfect for our walk and chat. We found a boardwalk we’d not seen before and had the pleasure of sharing a bench, enjoying the amazingly sparkly ocean view, seagulls circling us and the golden opportunity to talk and brainstorm in a most wonderful way! Later we discovered a new delightful restaurant “Flower Child” and made more memories!!!
If we’d let the demands of the outside world take us away and had not chosen to seize this particular time together, we’d have both lost out on a very special time together – which is rare in our “regular” lives.
Living on two different continents makes us both more purposeful in our time together.
We don’t waste any. We Carpe Diem and strive to make our time together extraordinary!
Carpe Diem beloveds!
