This was written on the first Friday in November and I’m going to participate in this Five Minute Friday free write. Oh boy! Discipline and commitment! AH HAHAHAHAHA. Well, the intent was there but the follow through, well, notsomuch. BUT here it is anyway and here’s to doing better this (and the next and the next and the next) Friday!
All of life is a journey in one way or another.
I’ve lived a mere 60 years of my journey. Only God knows how many more years I’ll continue. I plan to live with purpose because that is the reason for this journey anyway, right?
Currently I’m on the journey living God’s purpose for my time in Ecuador. It seems to change fairly regularly and I have to stay open to this change and adapt to several somewhat unknowns.
This current journey has me buddying with a new sister in Christ, Rachel, as we’ve been commissioned to share our faith with our fellow gringo foreigners in this community. Oh boy. No, really, we’re clear on this directive but it’s a doozy for sure and we’re tackling it together as support and encouragement for one another because we know how much “blow back” we’re going to get.
This is a small community anyway and we’re setting ourselves even more apart but we know this is what we have to do here and now.
Pray for us as we embark on this new journey, will you please?
We see others on their various journeys and often compare theirs to ours but that is not fair, really. Everyone has a specific and unique journey. This journey of chronic illness and pain is not one I’d ask anyone to join with me, although I now know several great folks in this particular boat, too. We do in fact journey together one way or another and always in prayer.
Carpe Diem beloveds!
